Getting and EDMS account

CERN and EDMS

• Unless you already have a CERN account or you can have one through your institute, you’ll have to get a lightweight account:
  • Register here: [1]
  • When filling the form:
    • Email: use your institute email
    • Company/Organization: write EXTERNAL
    • Department/Division: write External
• Once you have verified your account and set a password, sign in to EDMS:
  • go here: https://edms.cern.ch/
  • if you have a lightweight account, login with "Guest access" (see picture below)
  • Once you are logged in, send a mail to Domenico.della.volpe@cern.ch or matthieu.heller@cern.ch indicating which email address you logged in with.
  • Your email address will be added to the list of allowed users. The list is not part of EDMS and it may take from few hours to a full day to get synchronised, be patient !

How can I approve a document'?

You can't! The approval of the document is subject to the scrutiny of the System engineering team. So if you wish to ask for approval contact the system engineering group

I need to share a document with an LST member in an area where they do not have access.

In EDMS, there is the possibility to share a document. In this case, this version of the document will be visible to the user. but if a new version is produced it will not. You need to share the new version once again See the picture include below
