Trouble Shooting

- Some of actuators have watertight belts so far from their tops that IF plates cannot be adjusted to the right positions vertically. We found ~10 with ~5 mm displacement out of 180. We replaced the belts with new ones (Martin brought ones used for MAGIC).

- We put strong force and slipped off 2-3 watertight belts by mistake while adjusting actuators vertically. We also replaced them with new ones.

- 2018/02/06 : Beforehand Daniel took one IF plate by car to Roque and came back, and that plate had a threaded cylinder pin loosened. We have to specify if the loosening may come from vibration of the car or just forgetting tightening. We checked loosening of the pins for other plates and found one with 1 missing pin out of 100 plates.

Tips

adjusting fixed points and actuators horizontally :

- When milling parts cannot move smoothly, you may have to loosen bolts fixing pentagonal spacers inside.

- We adjusted horizontal positions of fixed points with tail of a caliper.

adjusting actuator positions vertically :

- We adjusted vertical positions of actuators with a simple tool below.

- In case a watertight belt interferes, and 3-4 mm is enough to shift actuators farther, it is enough to cut the rubber sticking out.
