Getting and EDMS account
CERN and EDMS
- Unless you already have a CERN account or you can have one through your institute, you’ll have to get a lightweight account:
- Register here: [1]
- When filling the form:
- Email: use your institute email
- Company/Organization: write EXTERNAL
- Department/Division: write External
- Once you have verified your account and set a password, sign in to EDMS:
- go here: https://edms.cern.ch/
- if you have a lightweight account, login with "Guest access" (see picture below)
- Once you are logged in, send a mail to Domenico.della.volpe@cern.ch or matthieu.heller@cern.ch indicating which email address you logged in with.
- Your email address will be added to the list of allowed users. The list is not part of EDMS and it may take from few hours to a full day to get synchronised, be patient !

In EDMS, there is the possibility to share a document. In this case, this version of the document will be visible to the user. but if a new version is produced it will not. You need to share the new version once again
