2017-08-07 Wetteskind, Stürzer Installation of Rail ...
2017-08-05 Wetteskind, Stürzer Installation of Rail Measuring inner radius of rail runway in height and distance to foundation center. Clean-up of site.
2017-08-04 Wetteskind, Stürzer Installation of Rail Measuring outer radius of rail runway in height and distance to foundation center. Pouring the second quarter of rail ring with grout inbetween pedestals (done by Dragados). Performing further test drills through pedestals for anchors (done by Dragados).
2017-08-03 Wetteskind, Stürzer Installation of Rail Finalization of height adjustment of pedestals. Installation of last bushes in rail holes for rack segments. Preparation of formwork for the second quarter of rail ring (done by Dragados). Performing first test drills through pedestals for anchors (done by Dragados).
2017-08-02 Wetteskind, Stürzer Installation of Rail Further adjustment of pedestals in height. Pouring the first quarter of rail ring with grout inbetween pedestals (done by Dragados).
2017-08-01 Wetteskind, Stadler, Stürzer Installation of Rail Starting with final adjustment of pedestals in height (inside and outside of rail ring). Preparation of formwork for the first quarter of rail ring (done by Dragados).
2017-07-28 - 2017-07-31 Wetteskind, Stadler, Stürzer Installation of Rail Further investigation of rail behaviour. Trying to improve the situation with different measures (e.g opening and closing connection plates between segment faces) - without success. Decision: We ignore this problem for the time being and concentrate on the final adjustment of pedestals (levelling them all in the same height).
2017-07-27 Wetteskind, Stadler Installation of Rail Remeasuring rail height and distance to foundation center. No improvement of rail tilting observed. Restarting of pedestal adjustment. We think a deeper investigation of the rail behaviour is useful.
2017-07-27 Jablonski, Stürzer Installation of Central Pin ...
2017-07-26 Wetteskind Installation of Rail Readjustment of pedestals with the goal to level them out. Attempt to reduce effect of friction.
2017-07-26 Jablonski Installation of Central Pin ...
2017-07-25 Wetteskind, Schlammer Installation of Rail Early measurement of rail height and distance to the foundation center during dawn. Found same tilting around rail cross section axis but effect is less and in reverse order than measured the day before (height of rail running surface at outer radius partly bigger than at the inner one).
2017-07-25 Jablonski, Dettlaff Installation of Central Pin ...
2017-07-24 Wetteskind, Schlammer Installation of Rail Final setting down of the rail onto the pedestals and removal of airpads. Checking of rail height and distance to the foundation center. Detecting tilting of rail around its cross section axis. Effect was found about noon and results in bigger height of rail running surface at the inner radius than at the outer one. Assuming effect is due to thermal expansion in combination with friction between rail base and sliding plates of pedestals.

2017-07-21 Wetteskind, Schlammer Installation of Rail Further setting down of the rail onto the pedestals and removal of airpads. Checking of rail height and distance to the foundation center.

2017-07-20 Wetteskind, Schlammer Installation of Rail Starting of setting down the rail onto the pedestals and removal of airpads. Checking of rail height and distance to the foundation center.

2017-07-12 Jablonski, Stadler, Wunderl, Schlammer Installation of Central Pin and Rail ...
2017-07-11 Jablonski, Stadler, Wunderl, Schlammer Installation of Rail Tightening of screws around the running surface of the rail. Assembly of connection plates between segment faces. Discovering a misalignment of some connection plates with holes on the segment faces. Checking of rail height and distance to the foundation center.
2017-07-10 Wetteskind, Stadler, Wunderl, Schlammer Installation of Rail Preparation of pneumatic connections between compressors and airpads. Positioning of grippers for pulling rail segments horizontally against foundation center. Closing gap by controlled pulling of segments at different positions while airpads are stowed by compressed air. Starting assembly of rail pedestals.
2017-07-08 Wetteskind, Stadler, Wunderl, Schlammer Installation of Rail Placing of remaining 3 rail segments on top of airpads. Again align them in height and distance to the foundation center. Placing of last segment with a gap of ~30 mm to the next-to-last segment.
2017-07-07 Wetteskind, Stadler, Wunderl, Schlammer Installation of Rail Placing of next 7 rail segments on top of airpads. Again align them in height and distance to the foundation center.
2017-07-06 Wetteskind, Stadler, Wunderl, Schlammer Installation of Rail Placing second rail segment on top of next two airpads. Installation order of segments has to be counter-clockwise when looking from top onto the foundation. Align both segments in height and distance (radius) to the foundation center.
2017-07-05 Wetteskind, Stadler, Wunderl, Schlammer Installation of Rail Placing first two airpads and align them in height. Placing first rail segment on top of the airpads. Placing and alignment of next airpads.
2017-07-04 Wetteskind, Stadler, Wunderl, Schlammer Preparation of Site Preparation of all needed tools and measurement devices. Checking of proper vertical distance between concrete ring and rail. Making marks on foundation for placing airpads.
