Proposal[edit]

Proposal: GAL05:Drift-scan observations of the Cygnus cocoon
PI: Ievgen Vovk (vovk@icrr.u-tokyo.ac.jp)

Source information[edit]

This are just the name and coordinates of the central source. It is less relevant for the scheduling and observations.

  Source: LHAASO J2027+4119
RA (J2000): 306.9 deg
Dec (J2000): 41.33 deg

Observational settings/limits[edit]

The scan can be performed at two time windows during the night (later this year only the second window is available since the first one will be before sunset). One window is before the culmination and one after. Accordingly we will call the first one/the earlier rise and the later set.

Rise window before culmination:

Zenith [deg] = 20
Az [deg] = 45.7157
Night Sky Background = Dark
Wobbles = Fixed alt/az

Set window after culmination:

Zenith [deg] = 20
Az [deg] = 314.2844
Night Sky Background = Dark
Wobbles = Fixed alt/az

Instructions for shifters[edit]

First of all please try to match the scheduled times as much as possible (e.g. schedule the source a few min ahead, so the data taking can start at the scheduled times). Please point at to the fixed Zd/Az position at the beginning of the scheduled time slot and stay there until the end of the scheduled slot. All the data can be taken in one run, there is not problem with the run being 1h long.

Depending on which window you have scheduled, please use the correct fixed Zd/Az configuration in TCU: they are called Cygnus_scan_rise and Cygnus_scan_set. Do not be surprised as this configuration is fixed in Alt/Az, so the telescope will rest and not track.
