In this page, the MAGIC proposals that were given priority by the LST LPPB are listed, for each observation cycle. Also, the category assigned by the MAGIC Time Allocation Committee is reported:

  • A: guaranteed observation (except for major technical or meteorological troubles);
  • B: observations will be scheduled if possible (most of B observations are typically performed);
  • C: filling time depending on free slots.

Note that targets in C-category might be observed when their visibility falls in periods with lower oversubscription.

LST Cycle II, MAGIC Cycle 19[edit]

  • APFP01 - Testing propagation of VHE photons in a gravitational field with the gravitationally lensed blazar B0218+357. - Category A
  • GAL06 - Multi-wavelength Campaign of the Impending Historic Recurrent Nova -- T Coronae Borealis - Category A
  • GAL13 - The 1LHAASO J0007+7303u PeVatron candidate: solving the CTA 1 conundrum with MAGIC and LST1 - Category A
  • TECH01 - Benchmark observations with MAGIC and LST-1 - Category A
  • TECH02 - Technical observations to optimize and monitor the performance of the MAGIC telescopes - Category A
  • TRAN04 - Gamma-ray bursts observations with MAGIC - Category A
  • AGN04 - Highly bent radio-galaxies as potential sources of VHE gamma rays - Category B
  • TRAN03 - Multi-wavelength observations of repeating fast radio bursts - Category B
  • GAL09 - Large Zenith Angle observation of the hadronic PeVatron candidate in the Boomerang SNR (G106.3+2.7) with MAGIC and LST-1 - Category B
  • GAL05 - The periastron passage of the colliding wind binary WR140: the first CWB VHE emitter in the Northern hemisphere? - Category C
  • AGN03 - Long-term monitoring program of radio galaxies - Category C
  • GAL15 - HESS J1848-018: a stellar cluster PeVatron? - Category C

This results in 526.75 hours including both regular and ToO time.

LST Cycle I, MAGIC Cycle 18[edit]

  • GAL01 - Long-term monitoring of the binary system LS I +61 303
  • GAL03 - Multi-wavelength Campaign of the Historic Recurrent Nova - T Coronae Borealis
  • GAL06 - Observation of the Cygnus-x North star- forming complex: unveiling the nature of the Cygnus OB2 star cluster as a cosmic- ray accelerator (continued)
  • GAL08 - Galactic Targets of Opportunity
  • GAL11 - Identifying the counterpart of the PeVatron candidate LHAASO J1956+2845
  • TECH01 - Technical observations to optimize and monitor the performance of the MAGIC telescopes
  • TRAN04 - Gamma-ray burst observations with MAGIC
  • AGN04 - Monitoring of classical radio galaxies
  • AGN10 - IGMF measurement with joint MAGIC+LST1 observations of 1ES 0229+200
  • AGN17 - ToO observations of flaring AGNs based on optical, X-ray and gamma-ray triggers (MTOO)

This results in ~ 530 hours including both regular and ToO time.
