Observational settings/limits
ComaCluster-Center, ComaCluster-OFF1, ComaCluster-OFF2 Min Zenith [deg] = 0
Max Zenith [deg] = 50
Night Sky Background = Both
Wobbles = ON
Observational strategy
The strategy, each observing night (80 consecutive minutes [^1]), is as follow:
- OFF-1 region for 20 minutes (1 run), during which the relative movement of the sky is 5 deg (AZ1, ZD1 → AZ2, ZD2)
- ON region for 20+20 minutes (2 runs), during which the relative sky movement is 10 deg (AZ1, ZD1 → AZ2, ZD2 → AZ3, ZD3).
- OFF-2 region for 20 minutes (1 run, AZ2, ZD2 → AZ3, ZD3).
[^1] take the data ideally with no interruptions, so that the AZ, ZD conditions in the OFF and ON match as intended. If for some reason there is some hardware problem and the 80 minutes need to get significantly reduced, an alternative (40 minute, half the observing slot) slot could look like either:
- Option A: 1 run in OFF-1 + 1 run on ON
- Option B: 1 run in ON + 1 run in OFF-2.
If you still have doubts, check page 8 in these slides [[1]] or ask schedulers or PI.
Instructions for shifters
Observations in ON mode. If at some point RTA works with ON-OFF observations, please report any hotspot in the skymaps.
