RS Oph Analysis v0.9.x AllSky

Overview[edit]

  • Source-independent analysis using LSTCHAIN v0.9.10 (DL1->DL2) and LSTCHAIN v0.9.14.dev79+g6a03d48.d20230508 (DL2 to DL3 stage (irf interpolation)). The MC production processed with lstMCpipe v0.9.0 using LSTCHAIN v0.9.9.
  • Source-dependent analysis using LSTCHAIN v0.9.14.dev139+g90d0450 (DL1->DL2) and LSTCHAIN v0.9.14.dev79+g6a03d48.d20230508 (DL2 to DL3 stage (irf interpolation)). The MC production processed with lstMCpipe v0.9.1.dev14+gfb9c7c using LSTCHAIN v0.9.14.dev139+g90d0450.


  • Cleaning method tail cut 84 and dynamic cleaning. Also, the MC files are tuned to match the NSB in the FoV.
  • Observations used in the analysis: 5580->5584, 5630->5639, 5696->5704, 5890->5893, 5912->5917, 5942->5945, 5970->5973.

Quality cuts optimization for detection (srcind)[edit]

Since the AllSky MC is a tailored production than the Fixed MC production, we cannot use high-zenith Crab observations to find the best cuts for detection. To do so, I found the best cuts (gammaness and theta) that minimise the sensitivity of MC gammas re-weightening the slope the the spectrum reported by MAGIC (Gamma = -3.7) and using OFF data from real OFF data (3 reflected OFF regions from runs 5890,5891,5892,5893, 5912,5913,5914,5915,5916,5917, 5942, 5943, 5944, 5945, 5970, 5971, 5972, 5973). I used a grid of gammaness and theta2 values. The best cuts are gammaness = 0.9 and theta2 = 0.01 deg2.
